Taffy Talks… Saying Goodbye

Goodbye

Taffy the Welsh Terrier

My fur-less Mom asked me to write a post to say goodbye so if you are reading this it’s because I have joined my brothers and sisters in Doggie Heaven. I should have started writing a blog a lot sooner because I could have shared some funny stories with you but I guess I’ll never have the chance now. Don’t feel sad for me though. I had a great life – a life that is a whole lot better than many other animals who spend their lives being hungry, beaten and unwanted.

I never had any worries. I had friends and my family doted on me. This is harder on them than it is on me. Both of my fur-less parents are crying a lot but they know that I am very sick and my quality of life is near zero so it is my time to go. I would have liked to have made it to my 12th birthday which is in two weeks but I guess that was never in God’s great plan. So don’t wait until it’s too late to tell your furry and fur-less friends how much they mean to you. Give them a hug today.

Signing out for the last time, I am

Taffy, the Welsh Terrier

This Taffy’s fur-less Mom speaking. Taffy died peacefully in our arms on Sunday, February 16th at 8:51 AM. Losing her has left us devastated but we find comfort in knowing that we loved her and gave her a good home worthy of such a special pet and part of our family.

  1. You’r little dog will always be in your hearts. Taffy gave unconditional love while she was your pet, but you also made her life very special. Take care Johanne – we know it’s not easy. Judy

  2. I have tears as I read this this evening. I am sad about Taffy going as I know what a special pet this Welsh Terrier was. How much love during the last days and what a lovely gift to the rest of us fur-less Mom gave through these posts.

    • Thank you Karen. Anyone who has ever lost a beloved pet, fur or feathered, knows the pain I am going through right now. Thanks for the post. I really appreciate the support.
